Daisy is my friends’ dog in New York. In April, when they flew to Japan, they didn’t feel comfortable leaving her with strangers, so they asked me to help. I flew to NYC, then drove upstate to their house, and spent two wonderful weeks with Daisy from morning till night—long walks in the woods, fetch in the yard, slow snuffle breaks, and cozy cuddles after dinner.
I also watered the houseplants, tended the veggie beds, and kept the backyard feeders topped up for our regular flocks🐦⬛. A curious baby black bear🐻 visited for birdseed almost daily (watched from a safe distance, of course!). Then came two surprise snow days, which turned into snowballs, zoomies, and warm naps.
It’s one of my favorite memories—and the kind of attentive, stay-put care I bring to house sitting.
